Paul Bartlett

President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Bartlett is responsible for the overall operations of the company and specifically oversees Finance, Design, Manufacturing, QA, Sales & Marketing and Customer Support.

He is the former President & CEO of Liberty Aerospace, Inc., and the former President & CEO of Britten-Norman Ltd (BNL), manufacturer of the Islander and Trislander aircraft.

He also served as a Director on the main Board of BNL's parent company, Biofarm, Inc. and held engineering and executive positions at British Hovercraft and GKN Westland.

Dr. Jason Russell

Chief Technical Officer

Dr. Russell is responsible for aircraft design and flight test engineering. He is the former Head of Engineering for Liberty Aerospace, Inc. and the former Chief Engineer at Europa Aviation, Inc.

He holds a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Science in Materials Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering Honors Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

He is also a FAA Designated Engineering Representative. He holds a Private Pilot License as well as an Advanced and Instrument Ground Instructor Certificates.

Scott Meder

Vice President of Finance

Mr. Meder is responsible for all aspects of Accounting & Finance for Discovery Aviation.

Mr. Meder previously served as the CFO for Liberty Aerospace, Inc.  And, prior to joining the aviation, Mr. Meder was the CFO of the Scott Fly Rod Company.  Mr. Meder was also a business consultant and auditor for Coopers and Lybrand, LLP where he obtained his CPA certification.

In addition to holding his CPA, Mr. Meder has also obtained the Certified Internal Audit designation.  He holds a MBA in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Mark A. Miller

Vice President of Operations

Mr. Miller is responsible for leading the long term strategic planning and daily oversight of the Discovery XL-2 and Discovery 201 production facilities.

Mr. Miller formerly served as the Operations Manager of Embraer Executive Aircraft’s final assembly facility in Melbourne, Florida. In that role, Mr. Miller was responsible for the start-up of that facility and led all production, flight test and painting departments as well as logistics, manufacturing engineering, and planning. Prior to Embraer, Mr. Miller served as the Vice President of Operations and Customer Support for Liberty Aerospace, Inc. Mr. Miller also served as a Business Unit Manager for Piper Aircraft where he was responsible for the manufacturing and development of the PiperJet Proof of Concept Aircraft and led the fabrication division.

Mr. Miller brings Discovery Aviation an extensive aerospace operations management background; leading several successful greenfield production facility start-up operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and has worked on a multitude of international assignments.
